New court for addicted parents helps promote hope

Hope yes, but we have been trying for decades to help addicted parents! Yet addiction is so very agressive and some families just can't seem to fight it--still, if even one family is rescued... Inour family, it was our mother who found help first in a 12th step prgram. then she brought all her kids (also sufering from the disease)--then her brother--hi s kids--so even though the disease is agreesive--when one member gets it--they can often briing agressve recovery into the family too!

"Families are broken apart until the addicted parent can demonstrate the sobriety and responsibility necessary to reunify the family."

No kidding! Parents who drink too much usually end up hurting the ones they love. Good article for exposing the problem--not much in way of solutions except--don't abuse alcohol!

Hotline, web chat help families dealing with children with drug

Another source of help--you never know which form of help will be the one that clicks! Just never give up when it comes to your kids and getting well from addiction.

The phone number for the hotline is 1-855-DRUG-FREE (1-855-378-4573) and their website is located at https://drugfree.org. The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids goes beyond parents with children under the age of 18. The service is available for parents whose children are as old as 30."

We at Day By Day have had a flood of requests this year for free books. We give away books every month as our way of paying it forward. Unfortunately, we can't keep up as much as we would like to. Rather than turn anyone organization away, we are going to divide the books up between multiple centers--we apologize for those who receive less and hope that the few books we can send will be added to your library and be made available to the newcomer.
